Hydristor Wins Merit Award in Emhart / NASA Tech Briefs
Contest
Tom Kasmer's submission of the Hydristor won a Merit Award in the fifth annual "Create the
Future" contest. The competition was sponsored by Emhart Teknologies Inc., ABP International
and NASA Tech Briefs magazine, and co-sponsored by Comsol Inc. and Solidworks Corp. Tom
entered in the "Transportation" category, whose requirement was for "a mechanical or
electromechanical design that improves the functionality, performance, or cost basis of
transportation products(s)". Links to the official contest web site, award winners announcement
and Tom's submission can be found in our "Press" section.
Hydristor Discussed in BusinessWeek
The development of hydraulic transmissions to
decrease fuel
consumption is the focus of an
article in the "Science & Technology" section
of the
September 18, 2006 issue of BusinessWeek
magazine. Go to our "Press" section for the link to read the online version of the article.
Hydristor Information Added to Wikipedia
Many thanks to John Switlik for his editorial assistance starting in August 2006. The entry can
be read here.
University Professor's Letter to Al Gore
Carl Stannard, Emeritus Professor of Physics at Binghamton University, wrote to Vice President
Al Gore on June 29, 2006 encouraging a close look at the Hydristor as a possible solution to the
combined problems
of global warming and foreign energy dependence. The letter, also copied to
Senators and Congressmen
representing the state of New York, can be read here.
Tom Kasmer Gives Hydristor Status on America's Car Show
Tom Torbjornsen interviewed Tom
Kasmer once again on his
weekly syndicated
radio
show over
the May 13-14, 2006 weekend. Click on
the "Audio/Video"
button to

this invention is
a major weapon against rising gas prices and our
dependence on foreign oil.
Video From IFPE 2005 Available
A short video that shows the convention floor and a demonstration
of the Hydristor on the John
Deere garden tractor is now

Tom Kasmer a Guest on America's Car Show
Tom Torbjornsen discussed the status of the Hydristor project with Tom
Kasmer
during his weekly
syndicated radio show. The interview was broadcast on
over 125
stations and on XM satellite radio
over the May 14-15, 2005 weekend. Click on

The Passing of John Delorean (3/19/2005)
I
would like to express my sincere condolences to John's
family during their time of sorrow. John was my
advisor in
negotiations for Hydristor licenses, evaluating business
opportunities, and was advocating the
Hydristor to
America's Car Show. I will sorely miss his wisdom.

HYDRISTOR
TO BE DEMONSTRATED AT
IFPE 2005 - LAS VEGAS
MARCH 15 - 19, 2005
The
National Fluid Power Association (NFPA) will be holding its annual
IFPE
(International Fluid Power
Exhibition) event this year at the Las
Vegas Convention
Center. This trade show features over 400
exhibits covering the entire
spectrum
of power transmission and controls, including electrical, mechanical,
hydraulic
and pneumatic.
Inventor
Tom Kasmer will be featured in the Hydraulics & Pneumatics
Magazine
booth (#S14643) to
discuss
and demonstrate the Hydristor. He will
also display a
John Deere garden tractor that has one
of his prototypes installed
on it. For this
event he has replaced the tractor's gasoline engine with an
electric
motor so that
visitors can manipulate the controls and see the results for themselves.
Tom will
also be available to answer any questions, discuss design concepts
and how the
Hydristor can possibly
be implemented to improve your existing products
and systems.
